Exclusive Interview with :: Veronica Ballestrini
February, 2009

The country darling is hitting the FTV airwaves. Find out what brought this Connecticut girl to the country music scene, learn about her big family, and see how she’s connected to another FTV singer, Ryan Gallagher. It’s all inside, check it out now.

Q&A

FTV: We know you’re quite busy with your music and you’re only 17! Do you go to a regular school or are you homeschooled/tutored?

Veronica: I went to public school up until my junior year of high school and then I started homeschooling. I will be finishing up next month (February).

FTV: You have a fantastic style, where do you like to shop?

Veronica: I love to shop anywhere with great prices!!! lol I love Wet Seal and Forever 21!!

FTV: How would you compare Connecticut to Tennessee? How are they the same and how are they different?

Veronica: Some parts of Tennessee look like Connecticut, the weather is similar, but Tennessee is a bit warmer, and they get more snow in Connecticut. The people in Tennessee are much friendlier I have noticed. Southern hospitality!!! :-)

FTV: You come from a big family. How old are your siblings? Your brothers had a band when you were younger. Do they still play music today?

Veronica: Oh yes! I have 4 brothers their ages are: 28, 23, 20, and 14 and I have one sister, she’s 22. My two older brothers still do play music in their free time and we jam out together too sometimes!

FTV: We love how you have a “never give up” type of attitude and the persistence in itself aside from your great talents will bring you many places. What is your major motivation and/or influence for this?

Veronica: My major motivation is God. All my fans also motivate me, I want my music to be something they can related to. I was once told “Whatever you do in life, always try to be the best you can be at it.”…

FTV: What brought you to the country-side of music?

Veronica: Growing up my dad always listened to country music and I’ve always looked up to Shania Twain and Martina McBride.

FTV: What made you decide to bring your music to myspace in the very beginning?

Veronica: I wanted to get my music heard by people, and I thought that would be the best possible way to do that at the time.

FTV: We saw that last year you shared the stage with some very big pop/country singers such as Jessica Simpson, Taylor Swift, and Carrie Underwood. Were you able to meet with them as well? Were they the way you thought they would be and did they have any advice for you?

Veronica: Yes! It was so cool sharing the stage with all of those amazing artists. I didn’t get to talk to Taylor or Carrie, but Jessica was very very nice and a lot like I thought she would be, it was so cool meeting her, since I grew up listening to her music.

FTV: What is one thing you’ve learned about working in the music industry that those who aren’t in it wouldn’t realize?

Veronica: I’ve learned that you have to have a strong team behind you and surround yourself with good, honest people.

FTV: Your album has some very catchy tunes on it and the rhythms make you want to dance. Did you write most of the songs on this album and what type of message do you want to convey?

Veronica: I did write a lot of the songs.. Every song has a different message, I just want to write and sing music that people can relate to and understand.

FTV: What is your ringtone right now?

Veronica: Johnny and June by Heidi Newfield!!! Great song :-)

FTV: What qualities do you look for in people you will work with?

Veronica: I look for honest, confident, and positive people.

FTV: Do you consider yourself a role model for girls your age and younger? What does that mean to you?

Veronica: I have been told by people I am their role model, and this means a lot to me. I will just keep being myself and influencing others.
