Top Favorite Tracks from the new Meghan Trainor CD, “Title!”
Meghan Trainor recently released her debut studio album “Title” after major success with her singles All About That Bass and Lips Are Movin. “Title” debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 200, selling over 258 thousand copies in its first week.
Here are our personal favorites from Meghan’s album!
“What If I” – This track starts off with an acappella chorus sung by Meghan and progresses to a series of harmonic strings. It feels really innocent, yet talks of having a love for someone that is either not returned or remains hidden. Unlike Meghan’s upbeat singles, this track has a low tempo and is a slow song that has a sweet sound of a violin in the background. It is definitely a track that reminds us of that young, high school love that we sometimes questioned.
“No Good For You” – Compared to the previous track, this one is more upbeat and is somewhat reminiscent of Lips Are Movin. It describes loving someone who is not good for you, while he possesses many qualities that you do in fact like. The beat of track is uplifting as it starts off with strums of a guitar, eventually involving the sound of horns in the chorus. No Good For You progresses to a slow harmonic hook, quite similar to the track What If I.
“Close Your Eyes” – This track starts off with a simple guitar track as Meghan sings along about staying true to yourself. The beauty of this song is that it has a message to show everyone that you are beautiful and to never change. Close Your Eyes has a doo-wop vibe in the chorus and reminds of the songs from the 50’s and 60’s. It is a positive song that has an inspiring message for all, especially teenagers and young adults.
