For centuries, girls were always wondering what guys thought! We dug into the male brain and got some good answers that all of you will appreciate!
What turns you guys off? (We gathered the information and here’s the list…)
Girls who are too promiscuous – Lou, 24
Girls who don’t cook. – Nate, 23
When they drink all the time. – Ethan, 28
Girls who party a little too much - Lou, 24
A gold digger, looking for a sugar daddy. – Justin, 27
Kissing an ash tray – Mike, 28
No moral foundation – Christian, 24
Just another girl programmed by the media (who follows the crowd) – Christian, 24
Shallow girls – Zach, 29
Well ok…but what can I do to turn a guy on? What do they like?
I actually don’t mind girls that are high maintenance. – Lou, 24
Girls who like to workout, stay in shape. - Richard, 26
Good sense of humor – John, 30
Affectionate (not all over me but affectionate) – Lou, 24
A real girl – Jake, 22
A sense of humor and when a girl dresses in an attractive but conservative way. – Ben, 29
Conversationalist – Christian, 24
Do you like to debate with a girl?
Of course. – Christian, 24
Yes, I don’t want her to just say my opinions are hers, I want her to have her own mind. Even if they are different from mine, that’s good, then we can maybe learn from each other. -Nathan, 23
Are you looking for a relationship or fun?
Fun, until I find the perfect girl. I’m tired of playing around. I want a good girlfriend I can come home to. – Christian, 24
Fun for sure, I don’t want a real relationship until I’m established with my career. – Nate, 23
At this point I’m in a good place work wise. Hey I love to have fun but I’d prefer more of a relationship now. – John, 30
What do guys first notice when they see a girl walk by?
As random as it is, I’ll say hair. It’s just something you notice. When a girl walks by, you notice it and you take a double look. I’ve done that a hundred times. I see a girl’s hair first and not her face. - Lou, 24
I actually notice how she walks, does she look down at the ground or does she walk with confidence. – Zach, 29
I notice her total overall vibe, how does she dress, is she stylish/girly, that sort of thing. – Nate, 23
Definitely her eyes. You can tell a lot about someone by their eyes. – Ben, 29
How do you know if you connect with someone?
Usually when she gets my humor and we laugh a lot I feel a good connection is there. – Ethan, 28
It’s just obvious, conversation flows, it’s not a chore. – Christian, 24
If we have fun doing just about anything, it doesn’t have to be super extravagant, just fun as long as we’re together. – Richard, 26
What would you choose as a first date (can’t say dinner and movie)?
You know, I love the beach, so something on the beach like volleyball would be cool. – Chris, 32
Having a glass of wine at a nice lounge. – Ben, 29
Maybe taking a class together, like a cooking class, that could break the ice. – Richard, 26
One time on a first date, we went to the amusement park. That was good, as long as she likes rides. haha – Jesse, 25
The Springhill Suites Orlando Airport property is located within minutes of the Orlando airport. It is in a busier part of town due to it’s location.
The Pool/ Recreation/ Fitness Center: This hotel has a more basic rectangular pool which is located outside on the side of the building. The night we were there it was too cool outside to try swimming. The next morning was also a bit chilly and we had to leave for the airport anyhow so we weren’t able to test it out, same for the fitness center.
The lobby: This lobby is also quite large but has more of a “business” feel than the Springhill Suites Seaworld. There is a small waterfall when you first enter for a calming effect. We can tell it would be very inviting to the traveling businessperson. There is a private business center off to the side of the lobby which is not a typical room but designed with a more modern flare with two computers and printers. We were able to take care of our airplane boarding passes on them. There is also a larger eating area for the complimentary breakfast in the morning.
The rooms: Springhill Suites offers all suites and this is such a nice perk. If you need an extra bed, the sofas come with a pull out too. This room did not have the spa type restrooms but the did separate the sink from the shower area. The shower area was nice and roomy. For someone traveling on business or just getting into the area from the airport, the rooms meet the needs, comfortable, relaxing, and roomy.
Pros: Friendly staff. We noticed this as soon as we checked in. We were welcomed by Daniel at the front desk who was very hospitable and had a nice smile to greet us with. At the time we needed to return our rental car and Daniel helped us setup the shuttle to the airport so we had transportation to take us back. The business center was private and easy to use and the rooms were comfortable. Complimentary breakfast in the morning everyday and complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport in Orlando.
Cons: The pool was a bit small and since it was on the side of the building, this caused it to be in the shade for most of the morning.
Our travels took us over to the west coast of Florida, to Sarasota in particular. The Hyatt Regency is located in Sarasota with a marina and boat rides nearby, a bike trail, and of course the Sarasota beach within walking distance. The hotel had a modern appeal and had a beautiful outdoor pool.
The Pool/ Fitness Area / Recreation: This pool is pretty impressive. There is a cabana at the pool which mostly offers drinks and snack foods. There is a waterfall at this pool and the entrance into the pool is also beach like. It is surrounded by wonderful palm trees and outlined with beach chairs. The fitness center, we never actually saw. We think it may have been in a room in which the lights were out.
The Lobby: The hotel certainly has a “beach / city” feel. The lobby has a few futon style couches with a number of colorful pillows. There was also a bar / lounge area and a restaurant on the premises.
The Rooms: We were in a room on the tenth floor with a king size bed. The view was of the pool, the marina, and the Ritz Carlton across the marina. The beach was to our right behind some larger buildings. There was a small balcony to sit out on as well and enjoy the view. The rooms were nice and clean but missing a bit of the comfort angle.
Pros: Beautiful views, a marina and walking trail encompass the property, beautiful pool with waterfall. The bar and lounge is a fun spot for people to meet. The proximity of the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center to the hotel property is another big plus for those in town for a show, no need to drive there, just walk!
Cons: The restrooms. They are just too small. Everything feels very narrow, hardly enough room to move. The railing on the balcony seemed a bit too low and seemed to be a safety hazard.
Price: Average summer prices for this Hyatt property are $130 per night.
I saw the headline, “The Secret Signals You Body Language Sends to Him” and decided to find out what these secret signals are. Here they are with our responses in an abbreviated version.
1. Catching his eye, hold the gaze, look down, then back up. – translates to, I’m interested and like what I see.
This might be a bit of a popular one and we agree, but not too deep of a liking. It’s a move that says, “we noticed you.”
2. Fixing the hair or outfit. – translates to, I see you noticed me and now I’m making sure my appearance is just right.
Our take: I think we may do this when we’re in the spotlight or seen by someone out and about.
3. Looking away after you kiss, hug or greet. – translates to your disinterest or or being on the lookout for someone else.
Our take: I understand how this could be taken as disinterest. However, how about this spin It could be the result of a feeling of discomfort due to perhaps an unresolved argument or negative feelings toward one another.
4. What your coy smile says. – translates to telling a guy you want to get to know him better.
Our take: A coy smile (one where you don’t show any teeth, just a slight smile) would be seen to us as a form of flirtation an an invitation to flirt a little more.
What do you think? Do you agree with us?
We hopped on the Monorail to take off on yet another adventure to Hollywood Studios, “formerly known as MGM.” (The monorail is yet another of Disney’s cutting edge transportation from park to park and the Disney hotels.) This is Disney’s tribute to the great movies, and wow is it something else. By the time we arrived it was starting to become dark. Mind you, this was in early April. The park, just like Epcot, closes at 9 pm. The most noticeable right away? The large blue hat with white stars in it from the Disney movie, ‘Fantasia” that Mickey Mouse wore. It’s fun to take pictures in front of it, creates the image that you’re actually wearing the hat.
We took in everything and decided upon checking out the “Great American Movie Ride.” While you wait you can watch a movie of a montage of all the movies over time. The ride takes you through an indoor maze looking at life size characters from movies starting with Gene Kelly types to westerns, and more. Then there’s a surprise where you’re actually in a movie on that ride. You’ll have to check it out to find out what happens.
Can you find your way out?
We’re sure you’ve seen the Disney classic, “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.” Now you can actually feel like you were shrunk to miniature size by taking a journey through a huge playground of oversized grass, play doh, toys, rocks, and more.
Sing it!
As you all know, we have a fantastic competition, just winding down to the top contestants and well Hollywood Studios also jumped in on the singing game by creating an “American Idol” attraction. During the day you can audition as long as you are in the age limits of the Fox tv hit, “American Idol.” At the end of the day there is a singing competition where the audience votes for their favorite. If you win, you will receive a pass to get to the front of the line at any American Idol audition in the future. “Sounds” like fun!
It’s too bad..
This park needs to stay opened later, it closes too early with so much to do. Why do they do that when most rides are inside?
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a great place for movie and television lovers. Make sure you get there early enough and check out the listing of rides before you go so you’ll have a plan of where you want to visit first.
At the very end of March we took a trip to Florida on a mission, to find out what Orlando (the home of Mickey Mouse) has to offer in the way of a summer getaway for our amazing readers. We left home (New York) in the rain but happily arrived to the sunshine in Florida. There’s a reason it’s called the “Sunshine State”! There were those pretty palm trees I had been missing. On to our first hotel stay, at the “new Springhill Suites Seaworld.” Off we drove down “International Drive” which for those who know Orlando is likened to “Main Street.” There is so much going on there on this one long street!
Springhill Suites Seaworld
The Springhill Suites at Seaworld is located right across the street from Seaworld itself. The manager of the property told us many really like to watch the fireworks display Seaworld puts on. Those staying at the hotel can see it right from the pool area. So let’s break it down on some of the most important parts of any hotel:
The Pool / Fitness / Recreation: This pool area is not a “typical one.” It’s much more vacation-like with a special pool bar that serves Pizza Hut amongst other fun foods and drinks. The pool is larger than the usual and has a more kid-related side then a side for the adult swimmers which is a bit deeper. The entrance into the pool isn’t just a stairway but more of a “beach entrance” where the ground just goes right into the pool on a slope. The pool curves and has some little alcoves which are nice.
The recreation room is typical to most hotels with some standard equipment, treadmills, elipticals, etc. For this fitness conscious girl, I always tend to take a look at the fitness offerings at any hotel I stay at.
The Lobby: It’s the first room you notice when you enter any hotel, the lobby. This one is not the usual look for a Springhill Suites. There is a blue and green color combination throughout the entire hotel. In the center of the lobby you will find a small lounge encircled by a transparent curtain, a Starbucks bar, eating area, and computers. You can almost feel like you’re walking into a city hotel.
The Rooms: We were in a room with two double beds. The beautiful perk of Springhill Suites is that they all are suites so you have the bedroom and a separate sitting room with a kitchenette. With the hotel rooms in the Springhill Suites Seaworld, you feel as though you are in a spa. From the colors to the sliding doors for the restrooms and the general calming environment of the rooms it certainly stands out. The rooms are comfortable, have enough room for about four to five people to move around easily, a beautiful large flat screen television, and nice workstation. (which helped us!)
Pros: This hotel has a number of ammenities with a small convenience type store, recreation facilities, comfortable and easygoing environment. They even offer an expanded hot breakfast in the mornings complimentary. When asked why someone should stay at the Springhill Suites, John, the hotel manager said, “this hotel offers style and space at an affordable price.”
Cons: We didn’t have enough time at this hotel to enjoy everything! They didn’t offer any shuttle service to the airport.
Price: Affordable rates at an average of $99 per night.
The sun is shining, and school is coming to an end. This can only mean one thing, summer is almost here! For those of us who love the warm weather, the carefree days, and the sunshine, this is a fun time. We decided it would be a fun idea to talk about vacation ideas and give you our take on some popular destinations. So we decided to begin a special Summer Vacation feature. We’ll introduce different hotels, attractions/entertainment, and other travel tips.
Our first set focuses on Florida, the “Sunshine State.” Find out about our experiences on our big vacation journey and see if these hotels and attractions are right for you!
It’s time to buy your first car, so what do you have to pay for? What are the expenses involved?
That’s a good question, and something every teenager or 20 something who is thinking of buying a car should know! Why don’t they teach these things in school? We don’t really know, but here’s a list of expenses we compiled as far as buying a car…
The actual price of the car – (tough one, right??)
- it’s important to understand the montly charges too and to know whether you’re buying or leasing
Automobile insurace
Taxes on the car
Financing for a loan if you need it to pay for the car
Interest charges on the loan
How much money down? – this is an amount that will help lower your monthly payments. The more you put down, the less your monthly expenses for the car itself will be.
Gasoline
Oil changes
Inspections
Registration fees
Tire changes, spare tire
What cars are you all looking at ?
- Get some music pumping and dance around for 15 minutes (hey nobody’s watching!)
- Walk up and down the stairs ten times in a row
- Go to the local mall just for the walking, and maybe add some items to your wish list.
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
- Take the long route to your classes instead of the short one
- Go to the park with your friends and walk around, never know who you might find there!
Just start moving, and the more you do, the healthier you’ll begin to feel. As soon as you begin seeing results, you’ll want to keep going with it. Also, be careful as to the foods you eat. We know you’ve probably heard it before, but there is a definite difference between eating fast foods/fried foods and ones with low fat that are non-greasy. Your friends will see that you’re getting healthier and they’ll probably want to know how, then maybe you can help them and create a group workout.
What do you do to stay fit?
It’s becoming more popular to know people all over the country and even the world. For the purpose of this article we’ll stick with all over the country. So then what happens when you happen to be at the same place at the same time with a new girl or guy and you both really get along well but you find out they live in Texas and you live in Oregon? Well hopefully we came up with a solution to this problem.
While it’s much easier to stay in touch and be friends with someone who lives nearby, there’s no need to just end a good friendship because of distance. If it becomes too painful for you to contact him or her because they are so far, be sure to communicate that, they may be feeling the same way and maybe the two of you can plan a trip to see each other. Depending on your age though, a romantic relationship with someone who is still in high school and lives far may not really work right now, it might work in the future though when you’re both old enough to maybe go to the same college, so don’t lose hope on this. Stay in contact and let them know what you’re thinking. Communication is key!
