*Life* Your First Car – What you need to know

Posted on 02 Jun 2009 at 2:00pm

It’s time to buy your first car, so what do you have to pay for?  What are the expenses involved?

That’s a good question, and something every teenager or 20 something who is thinking of buying a car should know! Why don’t they teach these things in school? We don’t really know, but here’s a list of expenses we compiled as far as buying a car…

The actual price of the car – (tough one, right??)

- it’s important to understand the montly charges too and to know whether you’re buying or leasing

Automobile insurace

Taxes on the car

Financing for a loan if you need it to pay for the car

Interest charges on the loan

How much money down? – this is an amount that will help lower your monthly payments. The more you put down, the less your monthly expenses for the car itself will be.

Gasoline

Oil changes

Inspections

Registration fees

Tire changes, spare tire

What cars are you all looking at ?

*Life* Tips to Get you Fit for the Summer

*Life* Tips to Get you Fit for the Summer

Do you not feel ready for summer clothes?  Maybe you still have some winter weight, it happens to all of us and you want to lose a few pounds but don’t have the motivation to workout at the gym.  Here’s what you can do…Hey, exercise can be boring unless you change it up so it’s not the typical way! What you really need to do right now, since you feel overweight is to just start moving. If you move more each day, you will see changes. Here are some ideas:

- Get some music pumping and dance around for 15 minutes (hey nobody’s watching!)

- Walk up and down the stairs ten times in a row

- Go to the local mall just for the walking, and maybe add some items to your wish list.

- Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

- Take the long route to your classes instead of the short one

- Go to the park with your friends and walk around, never know who you might find there!

Just start moving, and the more you do, the healthier you’ll begin to feel. As soon as you begin seeing results, you’ll want to keep going with it. Also, be careful as to the foods you eat. We know you’ve probably heard it before, but there is a definite difference between eating fast foods/fried foods and ones with low fat that are non-greasy. Your friends will see that you’re getting healthier and they’ll probably want to know how, then maybe you can help them and create a group workout.

What do you do to stay fit?

*Life* Long Distance Relationships – are they worth it?

It’s becoming more popular to know people all over the country and even the world.  For the purpose of this article we’ll stick with all over the country.  So then what happens when you happen to be at the same place at the same time with a new girl or guy and you both really get along well but you find out they live in Texas and you live in Oregon?  Well hopefully we came up with a solution to this problem.

While it’s much easier to stay in touch and be friends with someone who lives nearby, there’s no need to just end a good friendship because of distance. If it becomes too painful for you to contact him or her because they are so far, be sure to communicate that, they may be feeling the same way and maybe the two of you can plan a trip to see each other. Depending on your age though, a romantic relationship with someone who is still in high school and lives far may not really work right now, it might work in the future though when you’re both old enough to maybe go to the same college, so don’t lose hope on this. Stay in contact and let them know what you’re thinking. Communication is key!

So many days I’m bored and don’t know what to do with myself, my friends are either working or not available, what should I do?
We’ve all probably been there, the day when everyone seems to be busy with something great, except you. Don’t worry, it will end soon, but what to do in the meantime?? Here are some ideas:

- Get a bunch of pictures from the computer or magazines of your favorite things, people, and places, then plaster the front of one of the covers for your textbooks with the pictures, it will represent you and how unique you are. Best of all, if you use a paper bag book cover for your books, you can keep making new ones by just using a new paper bag and putting more pictures on it!

- Maybe it’s time to sit back down at the piano or with your violin, or whichever instrument you play and put some time into practicing, find some cool sheet music online and try it out!

- Write an email or letter (do they do that anymore??) to a friend or relative that lives far away or one that you haven’t spoken to in a while. Connecting with someone you know is a mood booster for both you and them!

- Play a game on the Internet, there are tons of games to play for free on Yahoo games, all it takes is signing up for a free Yahoo email account, then you’re in! Check out the games on FTV too, they’re fun. Just be sure to play it safe when on the Internet.

- Check out Feeling the Vibe, comment to your favorite stories, talk with the other readers.

- Play some karaoke clips on www.youtube.com or on www.myspace.com and rock out with your microphone, nobody’s watching!

- Pick out a new singer or band and listen to one of their songs, keep looking until you find something you like.  There’s a lot to be said for introducing your mind to something new!

- Go out for a walk or workout, exercising is a great way to release feel good chemicals in the mind and will also help you stay fit!

What do you all like to do when you’re having one of those days??

Promote Yourself!

3.  Do you have a suggestion for us as far as a band or singer you would like to see  in the magazine?

*Life* “Do It Afraid”

Posted on 09 May 2009 at 10:06pm

Watched a recent clip of Vanessa Marcil (Las Vegas) on “Ellen.” Now here you have one of the top beauties in acting and she reveals something personal about herself. You may wonder what it was, what her “vice” is. Well it wasn’t what we expected, she said she just gets nervous all the time, whenever she has to speak to someone, or worse yet go on stage. Vanessa relayed how she was absolutely terrified to host one of the television award shows recently. Then she said something even more interesting. While she is terrified before and during the event, afterwards she feels so good about the accomplishment that it is that feeling which keeps her going, wanting more. A self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie who likes to face her fears. Ok, so you think, well a lot of people have stage fright and Vanessa hardly should have anything to worry about. How about this? Vanessa also told Ellen she is scared to talk to the guy who works at a 7-11. What’s the moral of this story? Well, it’s that we all have fears, some are big and others are small. For those of us who have fears we want to conquer, with a good support group and in a safe way we can conquer them. Perhaps you’re afraid to try out for the play, ask your boss for a raise, or talk to the guy/girl you’ve been interested in for a long time. Sometimes we just have to face our fears, they’re not going to go away if we try to ignore them, so perhaps we need to accept they are there and then knock them out. We can just “do it afraid.”

What is your passion?

Posted on 06 May 2009 at 10:48pm

Did you know we all have a special unique passion? What is your passion you may wonder. Well here is a way to figure it out. Pretend that money is not an issue, that you have as much time as you need, and the resources are available. What would you do? What brings a smile to your face when you think of it? Is it singing, dancing, playing a sport, sewing, drawing, programming a computer? There are so many options and now is the time to try to find out what your passion is. Once you discover it, you will know right away. What is your passion?
