The Biggest challenge since graduating high school…

CJ – The stress of not having to do high school homework is certainly a relief, but we have to grow up so quickly that I sometimes feel more stressed.

Derek- We are challenged in different ways that involve now life choices and we have been forced into an adult world rather then a student world.

Steve– I never wanted to miss the college experience because I think it so important as part of the development

process but at the same time honing our skills as musicians has given us the opportunity to put school aside and focus on a career.

Nick – I always know that I am going to go back to school but I need to pursue this first and school can come at any point.

How the Phil Bensen connection happened…

Group: We met him in Wisconsin at a charity event and we liked him. We decided it would be a good pairing.

The “Say Now Number”…is it in their future?

Group: Yes eventually, if we can figure it out. We have Mozes instead.

Push Play Myspace comments & messages…

Group: Yes we are on mysapce all the time and we each put in two hours a day.

Exclusive Interview : Push Play

Introducing…
This local group from Long Island, New York is quickly finding incredible success. The mix of their talent, music, and great presence have given them just the formula to make it. With a CD ready to release before 2008, a tour on the horizon, and sweet personalities, Feeling the Vibe wants to help you get up close to this special band, Push Play!

Did You Know…

*All 4 members of Push Play are born and raised in New York.

*Nick is the only self-proclaimed “night owl.”

.*Steve really hopes to open for “Paramore” one day.

*The guys tend to quite often find themselves writing their songs about girls even when that wasn’t their original intention!

The Guys, The Group

FTV: How long have you guys all known each other?
A: CJ and Nick have known each. other for 6 years, the other guys have all known each other for 2 years.

FTV: Are any of your related?
CJ: Not by blood, but by soul!

FTV: Are you all pretty much alike?
CJ: We are, but Derek has better hair.

Do you guys cook?

CJ: I actually learned how to make amazing grilled cheese sandwiches. Honestly, they’re cosmic..

Nick: I make a mean pasta with sauce!

CJ and Steve: Apples and peanut butter are really good. (CJ likes green apples best)

*The guys really liked this special pizza their old producer used to make, a true Taste of Italy!

Sports Sports Sports!

FTV: Which sports do you like to watch or play?
Derek and Steve: We like to watch the Islanders. We’re all Islanders fans.
Steve: I play baseball and soccer. Outfielder for baseball and goalie for soccer.
.Nick: I used to play hockey, but I don’t have time to do it anymore. I played badmitton for a season, that was a lot of fun.

FTV: Are you guys Yankees fans?
Derek: I’m a Boston fan.
Steve: He only likes them because they’re frontrunners.
CJ: I like basketball, I have 103 Kobe Bryant cards. I was a big collector, I even have a holographic shoe of his!

Push Play …. Press Play….where did this name come from?

FTV: Where did the name Push Play come from?
Nick: We were actually trying to find a name for our band because we were two months without a name. We were driving to Borders to find some really cool English magazines for their cool words. Then the CD we were listening to in Derek’s car wasn’t playing so CJ was just like “press play.” That was the name for a little while. A few months later we found out Pdiddy was coming out with a cd called “press play.” So we changed it to “Push Play.”

Very First Performance…

FTV: What was your first performance as a band? What was the experience like?

CJ: That was the “King of America” video shoot. Afterwards we played a “live” show. We had played it plenty of times before in rehearsal studios, but never live. It took 32 takes, and I sang it every time because it looks more real that way. At the end of it .was tough to sing a full set! We got to jump off the stage and crowd surf which was pretty fun. Nick didn’t get caught.

Nick: They dropped me. They had me for two seconds and then just let me go.

Myspace

FTV: We see that you comment people on myspace. How long do you spend on myspace on an average day?

CJ: Me? About 2 hours per day.

Nick: Lately I’ve been on there from 8:30 – 10:30 pm. I’ve been teaching my dad how to accept friend requests.

Steve: I don’t have a time limit, I just keep doing it until I’m mentally fried.

Derek: I’ll do it between classes and when I get home if I have time.

Opening For…

FTV: Which were your favorite groups to open for?

All: Ryan Cabrera hands down, he was a really nice guy.
Steve: I liked the Everlife show.
Nick: I think the Everlife show was my favorite.
Derek: Everytime all the bands have been really nice. They always come up and introduce themselves to us.

FTV: Who would you like to open up for?

Derek and CJ: Maroon 5
Nick: Kanye West
CJ: Jonas Brothers
Steve: Paramore

The Future

FTV: What is in the plans as far as a CD and tour?

CJ: Our CD is due out on December 22nd, but it may not be in stores that day. That’s just the release day in New York. It should be in stores then, but if not then some time in January. It will be on Itunes definitely.

Derek: Itunes, it’s the new way of doing things. We’re having a big cd release party in the city.

Nick: It’s going to be a blast. Tickets are on ticketmaster.
